‘Better Value Group designed, supplied and installed a full integrated system four our new family home. The house consists of a full basement level plus three levels of living above. The system includes Security Cameras, Access Control, Security and Alarms. Basil from BVG also supplied and supervised the installation of the Russound System along with IR Control and TV HD streaming throughout the house, consisting of 16 outlets.
One of the initial security we raised with Basil related to the scale of the home and security factors this poses, such as being on level four and having no vision or audio from the ground or basement access level. Basil offered a solution we have been really pleased with, he added featurees that were at the time leading edge and a first for New Zealand. These features consisted of audio announcements over the alarm keypads, the announcement alert us to particular movements within other levels of the house; for example, “Garage Door Open”. This is very comforting as when you hear a noise you instantly know what is happening below you. If the front gate is opened, for example, the system announces, “Gate Open”, again a high level of security and comfort.
The system allows us to utilise a smart phone app and with a simple click we can view the garage door, and via another smart phone app, we can arm or disarm the security alarm. We can also open the garage door and allow entry for a tradesperson or the house keeper while viewing them pass into the garage all on our phones. When a tradesperson finishes their onsite work, they can simply text us and we can rearm the house with a click of a finger on our phones – whilst offsite.
We are not very tech minded or computer savvy, but found the smart phone features extremely user friendly and offered a new, higher level of safety. The simplicity is fool proof, i.e. to arm we simply press “ARM”, and to disarm we must enter our security codes. When we go on vacation, we imply set “vacation mode” on our alarm and all of the security shutters on the house come down, under floor heating is turned off as are the water heaters etc. Again a feature offering a high level of simplicity and security.
In summary, the system is extremely user friendly and versatile; the solutions offered and installed by BVG were both cost efficient an highly effective. Our family would have no hesitation in recommending BVG to others, the high levels of customer service were beyond our expectations and the end result is flawless. We know the system has added value to our home, but more importantly, it offers safety and comfort to us on a daily basis. ‘
